CIA interrogators used the waterboarding technique on Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the admitted planner of the September 11 attacks, 183 times and 83 times on another al Qaeda suspect, The New York Times said on Sunday.
If only they’d waterboard him many, many more times. Waterboarding does not come anywhere close to the horror, pain, and suffering he caused to those who perished on 9/11 and all the families affected, who are still suffering to this day. I understand the purpose of waterboarding is not to punish but to gather intelligence, but having any kind of compassion for this monster (it seems like some are upset over the repeated use of these techniques) is bizarre and abhorrent. So if the feelings of any al-Qaeda members were hurt in the process, cry me a river. The fact that they’re still alive seems puzzling to me. Try them, hang them, kill them, get rid of them. Let us not become spineless. Let us not forget the ‘We Will Never Forget’ promise so many of us made years ago.
