What a night, what a night.

Excuse me if this post seems to be a bit all over the place. Just a few minutes ago I returned from the NYC Tea Party. I am still trying to gather all the emotions I am feeling right now. What I experienced tonight was by no means what I was expecting. Whatever I was expecting was exceeded beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Maybe I’ll write about it in more detail later. There were thousands and thousands of people and the energy amongst them was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The smiles, the chants, the cheers, the applause, the passionate speakers, the movement. It was just… it felt, well, historic. Yea, that’s exactly how it felt, historic. It felt like I was right there in the middle of history being made. Jonathan Judge, president of the Brooklyn Young Republican Club and lifelong New Yorker, told me he’d never seen anything even remotely like this in NYC. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

I was able to make it backstage with the guys from the BYRC. And guess what? I got to meet Newt Gingrich! He gave a speech that, well, changed things for me. The rules of the game have changed. It’s no longer just talk and opinions and no action for me. After tonight, I simply can not allow myself to go back to that. I’m not setting out to change the world. But I’m setting out to simply do my part as an American, my part to not merely sit idly by, my part to change things.

I took tons of pictures and video. I’ll be uploading some pictures and I’ll edit some of the clips together and make a little video.
