Bill O’Reilly on 60 Minutes

It’s kind of amazing how much I have in common with O’Reilly - at least as far as beliefs go. He really is a likeable guy, he doesn’t come off as overly likeable in this story, but it’s funny how much people just outright hate him for reasons … I don’t even know why. He’s certainly not far right leaning, he’ll admit when he’s wrong, he values the truth, and he has a strict set of moral beliefs. He gets that the world is complicated, that it isn’t black and white easy peasy. He’s respectful when people are respectful to him and respect themselves. And he’s willing to keep an open mind on some issues and be persuaded if the argument is a good and truthful one.

It’s funny but lately, as i start to make my beliefs and values more widely known, i’m starting to see just how hateful, intolerant, closeminded, rude, and inappropriate some people who align themselves with left can be. And i wonder if they realise the irony of that.

Highlighted in bold = I know exactly how you feel. Ironic to the nth degree.

You’re brave for letting your conservative views known - a very dangerous thing for a young person to do in this day and age. Kudos for that.

Oh, and O’Reilly rules.
