The womens suffrage movement had such better manners.
Everyone needs to cool it with this. I wholeheartedly agree with Jessica on this one. So far all I’ve seen from protests in favor of gay marriage has been a lot of hate, violence (both physical and verbal), and a lot of aggression towards those who have different views.
I fiercely disagree that gay marriage is a civil issue but if you must make it into one, to promote your agenda, you may want to take a few hints from MLK and Ghandi. If you want to achieve anything of great importance and great social change, nonviolence is the way to go.
Those who already agree with you, will listen to you pretty much no matter what, violence and all. But those who don’t agree with you or feel apathetic about it, might be more open to listen to your argument if violence and rudeness are checked at the door.
