The infamous night Dylan went electric. Pete Seeger was claimed to have grabbed an ax and walked over to the sound man in order to cut all the mic cables but this turned out to be untrue. Seeger later revealed all he actually said was: “Get that distortion out of his voice … It’s terrible. If I had an axe, I’d chop the microphone cable right now.”
I know the video quality isn’t the best but this is the only clip of Maggie’s Farm from that night I could find. I actually really really like this rendition. That wondrous guitar riff you hear is none other than Mike Bloomfield himself!
