How to determine whether you’re a moron
If you’re quoting Meghan McCain because you think what she said on The View was oh-so smart and insightful.
A few points:
First, I’m a young Puerto Rican dude who’s part of the Tea Party movement. The whole “Tea Party equals old white racist dudes” is hogwash and I know plenty of non-whites who embrace the Tea Party movement. Race is a non-issue for us. It is, apparently, for the anti-Tea Party folks.
Second, revolution doesn’t only start with young people. It is all kinds of moronic and ageist to say “revolution starts with young people.” See: the American Revolution.
Third, Meghan McCain doesn’t represent a new brand of Republicanism and her “look at me, I’m so unique! I’m a progressive Republican” drivel is laughable. Teddy Roosevelt beat her to it. And what exactly makes her progressive? That she supports marriage equality? So do I and most Republicans I know. What else? That she bashes other Republicans just for the attention of it and to garner the love of Republican-hatin’ leftists? Ah, yes, she’s very much “progressive” in that sense.
And fourth, Meghan McCain doesn’t represent young Republicans. I don’t know a single young Republican who feels she does. Meghan McCain only represents herself. She truly is the Tila Tequila of politics.
