Governor Tim Kaine from Virginia has a monthly radio show. This morning he took a call from a “Barry from DC” which supposedly turned out to be Obama. Kaine totally bought into it and had a friendly chat with O. He even talked about his happiest memory with the President.
The voice on the phone sounds right at times but then it just sounds so off. The Bush voice was imitated by scores of people during the last 8 years. Squint your eyes, channel your inner cowboy and, voilà, you’re Bush. I don’t think anyone has been able to perfectly capture Obama’s vocal inflections. Fred Armisen is pretty good but still not there.
And if it is Obama on the other side of the phone, what the hell is the President doing calling radio talk shows?!
