Hollywood’s depressing movies are, you guessed it, Bush’s fault

Newsweek never fails to deliver some great humor:

You can blame Hollywood’s doom and gloom on the Oscars, but I’m not going to. Instead, I think it’s George W. Bush’s fault. Most liberal directors felt restless under his presidency, and they pushed the envelope with over-the-top, operatic tragedies.

Something even funnier? This is not a satirical piece. Newsweek’s Ramin Setoodeh is very much serious about this absurd assertion.

Obama is president so happy-sunshiny, unicorn-flyin’ movies should be the norm now, right? Two wars abroad! Double-digit unemployment! Yeah!
