I was unplugged from the matrix today so missed Julia Allison live blogging @ Gawker.I know I should have bought an iPod Touch just to be part of such a special web event but ummmm……
Luckily I have been able to catch up thanks to this explanation and commentary by Loren Feldman at 1938 Media - Julia Allison Is Ugly Inside And Out.
Though, in Julia’s defence she has issued a very well written apology:I just live blogged at Gawker, and I had forgotten how things can spin out of control. If I have one main flaw - and I know, I know, I have many - it’s that I speak before I think. A lot.
I answered a question honestly when I should have said, sorry, this stuff is off limits. “Off limits” would be a good concept for me to consider in the rest of my life right about now. In any case, I am truly sorry for opening this Pandora’s Box.
I didn’t intend to hurt Jakob. I love him, and I want him to be happy.
I’m sorry.

I don’t know but to me that feels a little insincere.
Maybe because I spotted a similar public outing of Jakob by Julia here on Tumblr a few days ago which I emailed her about and that she subsequently took down.Sorry, but the defence I speak before I think doesn’t cut it this time. She had 3-4 days to think about the ramifications from when she first published it here on Tumblr to when she again published it on Gawker.
So as an outside observer (which I apologise for, for being part of the overall JA problem) Julia Allison’s major flaw is being a manipulative self centred individual that is fully aware of the impact of everything she says and does yet acts destructively anyway.

Thanks to Anthony Dever for this post! I completely missed the infamous post of Julia Allison accusing Jakob of having a disease before she took the post down. My girlfriend was browsing Anthony’s blog and found a snapshot of the defunct post AND a response to one of his emails. Score!
