AP: Motorcycle bomb kills 15 in Baghdad market

More than 200 people have been killed in Iraq this week by these goddamn insurgent bombs. These monsters place these bombs at places and times that maximize the number of innocent people killed.

The bombings occur so often that I’m afraid many of us in the West are getting numbed and desensitized — that it’s just some number being reported. Each and every one of those lives lost to this senseless terror is precious and vastly valuable. One life lost is one too many.

Since January 2009 there have been almost 750 people murdered in Iraq by car/motorcycle/truck/pushcart bombs and suicide bombs. That is in the year 2009 alone. One way to understand that number is to start counting each life lost and try to think of the horror each of them experienced.
