Reporter Challenges White House On “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” At Press Briefing
Tommy Christopher (@TommyXtopher) does what every journalist should be doing these days: asking the pressing, relevant questions. In typical Gibbs fashion, he plays around with the question and doesn’t give a direct answer.
How does discharging a soldier because he or she is gay serve our national interest? Exactly how? I would love for my President to give an answer on this. The same way he gave a direct answer on why releasing the detainee pictures would compromise our national security by fueling anti-American sentiment, how would discharging gay soldiers who serve openly compromise our safety?
