Pandora
I first found out about Pandora through a Current TV pod last year. They explained how the company actually hires young recent college grads with degrees in music and have them scientifically analyze each song according to a number of song elements such as syncopation, production values, rhythm patterns, key tonalities, etc. The more you listened and rated the music you like and don’t...

My other new business endeavor: selling my old stereo. — jakoblodwick
damn it! I’ve been looking for something exactly like this for a while now but I don’t move to NYC until March. Vinyl has to sound so so sweet on that big ol’ system and for $120, it’s a steal! Oh well…
I really hate doing this, but if you could, please, donate some money.
Before this custody battle started, I had no debt. I paid all of my bills on time and had a payment plan worked out with the girls’ school. Times were tough, but we managed.
Today, I owe tens of thousands of dollars to (what feels like) tens of thousands of people. Most importantly, I owe my custody evaluator a...
People are getting out of control with the reblogging feature. When it first came out, I thought it was a wonderful idea and would encourage intelligent and valuable commentary to already interesting posts.
To everyone who reblogs high-traffic tumblrs with stupid stupid comments or with non at all just to get free traffic, who do you think you’re fooling?!?
ps- feel free to reblog this...

I like pissing people off on ohnotheydidnt. It’s fun.

I think I’m going to cut back on reblogging. I like how it works in the dashboard, but it makes the actual implementation on my site look like shit. I think a dashboard only comment system would be great for people who feel comments are awful. — djnewstyle
I agree. It’s perfect as a sort of a commenting system but it usually messes up the tumblelog’s layout. For someone...
I’m moving out of my apartment in a month or so. I live with three really great people in Tribeca and the apartment is amazing. If you know anybody who is looking for a place to live ($2500/mo), shoot me an email. ricky at collegehumor. — rickyv
$2500 for a room?!?! geez that’s really discouraging especially now that my girlfriend and I are in the process of finding an apartment...

‘As I find myself free from the bloated bureaucracy of major labels, finally able to do whatever I want… well, what is that? What is the “right” way to release records, treat your music and your audience with respect and attempt to make a living as well? I have a number of musician friends who are either in a similar situation or feel they soon will be, and it’s a...

A Tough Decision
Someone offered us $11,000 for the vimeo.com domain. It’s very tempting. — dalasverdugo

I was unplugged from the matrix today so missed Julia Allison live blogging @ Gawker. I know I should have bought an iPod Touch just to be part of such a special web event but ummmm…… Luckily I have been able to catch up thanks to this explanation and commentary by Loren Feldman at 1938 Media - Julia Allison Is Ugly Inside And Out. Though, in Julia’s defence she has issued a...
For the first time, I can really feel how close we are to being done with George W. Bush. — dalasverdugo
The feeling is incredible. At one point I felt as if that was it, there was nothing outside of GW and I didn’t know any better. But now the end of the nightmare called George Bush feels closer than ever. I’m ecstatic.
This is by far one of the funniest and cutest things I’ve seen so far this year.
Driving to Old San Juan tomorrow, and hopefully checking out the rainforest! Most roads here don’t seem to have names or signs, which makes navigating interesting. All the directions we’ve gotten have been in relation to restaurants. We’re staying on the beach five minutes south of Chicho’s Bar in Rincon if anyone wants to join us for a cigar. — david

Weird
I was walking along the street in Mexico and some guy yelled out of a cab “Ricky!!!” I walk over to the cab and the yeller is Jason Segal, the actor, who I’ve never met in my life. — rickyv
I don’t know who Jason Segal is but I know who Ricky Van Veen is.

Oh I get it, they’re “strike beards”. Heh.
It’s great to have late night shows back. Just finished watching Mr. Letterman and about to watch Conan now! Weirdest thing? They both seem to have agreed on having full-on beards.
I’m seriously loving the weather right now. Why can’t it be like this for at least half of the year? All the South Florida goons are hating it. Hah.
Only in South Florida!
This is the funniest thing. Here in South Florida we’re used to insanely warm humid temperatures so when degrees dip even a tiny bit, people make a huge deal out of it. You see people out with full-on winter clothes: gloves, scarves, huge jackets, layering and people are still trembling and complaining about it. The weather? oh about mid 50s…… LOL
If you want to see what is wrong with society, spend an evening at Hard Rock. Seriously that place was a complete disaster. I am sooo glad I finally got away from that lifestyle. That feeling of complete emptiness after a long night of partying with complete strangers is not something I miss. Driving myself home, sober, with my boyfriend is a lot more fun. — jennyalison

hahaha a big LOL to this…….. I have to say I’m lucky to have the amazing girlfriend that I have but if I was single and didn’t know any better, girls like Julia Allison would destroy in me any hope of finding a girl who’s not self-absorbed,...
